Scholarships Tenable In The Arab Republic Of Egypt For The Academic Year 2026/2027

The Ministry of Higher Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt is offering scholarships to suitable Tanzanian students under the EGY-AID scholarship initiative for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarships are available for undergraduate, postgraduate, and Arabic language studies at eligible Egyptian public universities and institutions.

The opportunity is intended for Tanzanian applicants who demonstrate strong academic performance and meet the required admission and scholarship conditions. Successful scholarship beneficiaries will receive financial support covering tuition and other specified expenses throughout their studies in Egypt.

Applicants must meet the following general requirements:

• Must be a citizen of Tanzania.
• Bachelor’s degree applicants must hold an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education or an equivalent qualification.
• The applicant’s name must be identical on all submitted documents for verification purposes.
• Scholarship nominees will be eligible for admission only to Egyptian public universities.

Required documents include:

• Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation and the Egyptian Embassy.
• Certified university degree certificate(s) and academic transcript(s) for postgraduate applicants.
• A copy of a valid passport.

Scholarship application requirements include:

• Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and meet the minimum academic requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree applicants must not be more than 22 years old.
• Master’s and PhD applicants must not be more than 32 years old.
• Postgraduate applicants must submit a research proposal.
• Applicants must provide all documents required for registration.
• Applicants must submit a well-written personal statement.
• Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae (CV).
• Applicants must provide a recommendation letter.

For applicants interested in the Arab Language Cultural Center:

• Applicants should be capable of successfully completing the preparatory level as beginners.
• The maximum age limit is 32 years.
• Applicants will be required to take a placement test, which may be conducted online or in person at the Arab Language Cultural Center.

The EGY-AID scholarship covers the following expenses:

• Tuition fees.
• Monthly stipend for all scholarship beneficiaries.
• Additional allowance for books and thesis printing for Master’s and PhD students.
• Return air ticket upon successful completion of studies.
• Medical treatment at university and government hospitals.
