Mwalimu Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology (MNUAT), established in 2007, is a dynamic public university located in Butiama, the birthplace of Tanzania’s founding father, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. Sitting on a sprawling 573.5-acres main campus approximately 50 km southeast of Musoma, MNUAT also operates satellite centers across the Mara Region, with a burgeoning presence in Tabora Region. As a forward-thinking "Fourth Generation" and Entrepreneurial University, it delivers applied, skills-driven education in agricultural sciences, mechanization, and agribusiness. With state funding and a US $44.5 million investment backed in part by the World Bank the institution is building infrastructure to support innovation and real-world problem-solving.
