Funded Traineeships for Young Graduates at Delegation of the European Union to the United Republic of Tanzania and the EAC
The European Union Delegation to Tanzania is offering a fully funded 6-month traineeship opportunity for young graduates within the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI) in Dar es Salaam. This internship is designed for graduates interested in international relations, diplomacy, governance, democracy, and public diplomacy, providing practical experience in a diplomatic and international working environment.
The traineeship involves supporting political analysis, communication activities, and diplomatic engagement between the European Union and Tanzania. Selected candidates will work closely with the Political, Press and Information Section while gaining exposure to EU diplomatic operations and international cooperation activities.
Main responsibilities include:
- Monitoring political and governance developments in Tanzania
- Drafting reports, speeches, briefings, and diplomatic documents
- Supporting communication and outreach with the Tanzanian Government
- Liaising with EU Member States’ embassies in Tanzania
- Attending meetings, conferences, and official events
- Assisting in organising diplomatic visits and official functions
- Supporting EU-Tanzania communication and visibility activities
- Assisting with workshops, campaigns, and public events
- Working with the Press and Information Officer on strategic communication activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
- Excellent English communication skills
- Less than one year of professional experience after graduation
- Must not have worked in EU Institutions for more than six weeks previously
- Strong interest in diplomacy, governance, democracy, international relations, and public diplomacy
