Dangote Industries Limited is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Fuel Manager at its Mtwara Plant in Tanzania.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic procurement, logistics coordination, quality assurance, and ensuring 100% availability of all fuel types including CNG, Coal, and Alternative Fuels (AF) to support continuous cement plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fuel procurement strategies for CNG, Coal, and Alternative Fuels
- Manage fuel suppliers, transporters, and service providers
- Ensure uninterrupted fuel supply and maintain inventory buffers
- Coordinate fuel plans with production and plant management teams
- Manage CNG supply contracts, logistics, storage, and regasification systems
- Ensure compliance with EWURA regulations and HSE standards
- Monitor CNG consumption, pressure, and calorific values
- Develop and improve Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) initiatives
- Source and manage alternative fuels including RDF, biomass, and industrial waste
- Oversee coal and pet coke procurement, quality control, and blending
- Coordinate fuel transportation and logistics operations
- Monitor fuel quality parameters and enforce quality standards
- Liaise with NEMC, EWURA, TRA, and other regulatory bodies
- Prepare fuel budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Lead and develop fuel operations teams
- Support HSE compliance, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related technical field
- MBA, Supply Chain Management, or Energy Management qualification is an added advantage
- Professional certifications in HSE or logistics are desirable
Experience
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in fuel management, supply chain, or energy management in heavy industries
- At least 5 years in a senior managerial role
- Experience in cement plants, mining, power, petrochemicals, or waste management industries preferred
- Experience with Coal, Alternative Fuels, and CNG operations is highly desirable
- Experience working with Tanzania regulatory authorities including NEMC, EWURA, and TRA is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of fuel chemistry and cement kiln pyro-processing
- Understanding of CNG systems, regasification, and pressure management
- Expertise in supply chain management and contract negotiation
- Knowledge of environmental and energy regulations in Tanzania
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications
