1. Occupational Therapist (4 Posts)
- Duty Station: Temeke Municipality, Dar es Salaam
- Project Focus: Sensory Screening and Early Intervention Services
- Work Setting: Selected Primary Health Care Facilities
The selected candidates will support screening, early intervention, and rehabilitation services for children with developmental and sensory challenges.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Sensory Screening
- Coordinate sensory screening activities conducted by nurses and Community Health Workers.
- Oversee both risk factor screening and hearing and vision assessments.
- Compile and submit screening reports to health facility management and relevant authorities.
Early Intervention Services
- Conduct functional assessments to determine eligibility for early intervention services.
- Provide rehabilitation services and sensory stimulation therapy following approved protocols.
- Recommend assistive devices, developmental toys, and learning materials.
- Train and support parents and caregivers on early stimulation and daily living skills.
- Develop and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for enrolled children.
- Conduct regular home visits to support inclusive care.
- Provide counselling services to children and their families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical practitioners, physiotherapists, and social workers.
