Available Position

1. Occupational Therapist (4 Posts)

  • Duty Station: Temeke Municipality, Dar es Salaam
  • Project Focus: Sensory Screening and Early Intervention Services
  • Work Setting: Selected Primary Health Care Facilities

The selected candidates will support screening, early intervention, and rehabilitation services for children with developmental and sensory challenges.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Sensory Screening

  • Coordinate sensory screening activities conducted by nurses and Community Health Workers.
  • Oversee both risk factor screening and hearing and vision assessments.
  • Compile and submit screening reports to health facility management and relevant authorities.

Early Intervention Services

  • Conduct functional assessments to determine eligibility for early intervention services.
  • Provide rehabilitation services and sensory stimulation therapy following approved protocols.
  • Recommend assistive devices, developmental toys, and learning materials.
  • Train and support parents and caregivers on early stimulation and daily living skills.
  • Develop and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for enrolled children.
  • Conduct regular home visits to support inclusive care.
  • Provide counselling services to children and their families.
