Transport SAP Officer / Fleet Management Lead

Job Summary
The role is responsible for performing SAP-related activities for the Transport Department as a trained core user in TMS, MM, and SD modules. The position ensures effective fleet management, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and accurate documentation to support overall transport performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. SAP & Fleet Systems Management
- Perform SAP transactions and reporting for Transport operations (TMS, MM & SD modules).
- Maintain electronic databases covering sales, vehicle registration, inspections, and maintenance records.
- Ensure proper documentation for vehicle and driver logbooks.
- Prepare and submit monthly fleet performance reports.
2. Fleet Operations & Planning
- Liaise with FOS on all fleet-related matters.
- Ensure fleet availability through effective scheduling, forecasting, and trend analysis.
- Arrange fleet deployment and operational staff scheduling.
- Support planning for special operational events.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Monitor fleet operations to ensure compliance with local and national transport regulations.
- Oversee vehicle licensing, renewals, and statutory registrations.
- Review and approve periodic vehicle fueling requests in line with approved budgets.
4. Maintenance & Inspection
- Coordinate routine servicing and repairs as required.
- Liaise with approved workshops to ensure timely and complete service of company trucks.
- Conduct periodic vehicle inspections.
- Report incidents and provide recommendations to the Head of Department.
5. Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate corrective actions and capacity-building initiatives to enhance fleet performance.
- Align fleet operations with overall company objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager or Head of Transport.
Key Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
- First Degree or equivalent in Transport and Logistics.
- Professional qualification in Transport and Logistics is required.
Experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a generalist Transport role.
- Practical exposure to fleet management and transport operations.
- SAP operational experience is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of computer applications.
- Working knowledge of record management systems (manual and automated).
- Ability to apply scheduling and operational planning techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
