Job Overview

UNOPS is recruiting a Programme Management Associate (E-Learning and Instructional Design) to support the delivery of global digital learning and capacity-building activities under the Global Programme on Nature for Development, implemented in partnership with UNDP. This home-based, one-year retainer contract offers an opportunity to work with a global, multidisciplinary team supporting biodiversity, climate action, and sustainable development initiatives across more than 130 countries.

About the Programme

UNOPS supports UNDP in implementing the Global Programme on Nature for Development, which integrates the Equator Initiative, National Biodiversity Initiative, and Global Forest Initiative. The programme focuses on scaling nature-based solutions that support biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and inclusive governance in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Global Biodiversity Framework.

Job Context

The Programme Management Associate will support global and country-level initiatives focused on digital learning, knowledge platforms, and structured capacity-building activities. The role involves operational coordination, monitoring, reporting, and support in developing interactive learning content under the supervision of an E-Learning Specialist.

Role Purpose

Under the supervision of the designated supervisor, the Programme Management Associate will support the effective implementation of e-learning and capacity-building activities. The role contributes to timely delivery, quality assurance, and alignment of digital learning initiatives with programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Support coordination of e-learning and capacity-building activities delivered by partners and vendors
Assist in developing and updating interactive learning materials and visual knowledge products using tools such as Genially and Canva
Support development of storyboards, scripts, assessments, and interactive learning elements
Track learning deliverables, timelines, participation, and engagement metrics
Support organization and delivery of virtual learning events, webinars, and online workshops
Maintain learning management systems, course records, and participant databases
Collect and consolidate learning feedback, monitoring data, and evaluation inputs
Assist in preparing progress reports, presentations, and briefing materials
Support knowledge management, documentation of lessons learned, and good practices

Education Requirements

Secondary school certificate with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in fields such as environmental studies, international relations, political science, business, management, social sciences, development studies, or related disciplines relevant to biodiversity and sustainable development

Experience Requirements

Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
Environment, biodiversity, climate change, or natural resource management
Programme or project management
E-learning, digital learning programmes, or capacity-building initiatives
Public information, civil society engagement, or education

Experience using digital content creation or e-learning authoring tools such as Genially, Canva, Prezi, Adobe, Articulate, or iSpring is required.
