The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and financial planning activities. The role supports business decision-making through accurate financial data and requires exposure to international or cross-border business environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements, including Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) guidelines
- Prepare financing plans and support funding-related activities
- Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, and closing processes
- Support internal and external audits
- Prepare financial reports and professional presentations using PowerPoint
- Perform other standard accounting duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Strong and demonstrable accounting experience within an international environment
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience in financial forecasting and financial planning
- Knowledge of tax compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
