Position Overview:

The Human Resource and Administration Manager will lead the Human Resource and Administration functions of the company. The role focuses on people strategy development, administrative effectiveness, compliance with labor laws, and support of the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resource Management

The Human Resource and Administration Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with labor laws and best practices
  • Managing recruitment, selection, onboarding, and staff retention
  • Overseeing performance management systems, staff appraisals, and career development initiatives
  • Coordinating training and capacity-building programs to improve staff competencies
  • Providing guidance on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and grievance handling
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal HR controls

Administration and Corporate Services

The role will also involve:

  • Overseeing office administration, facilities management, and support services
  • Managing relationships with service providers, vendors, and consultants
  • Ensuring effective records management and document control systems
  • Coordinating Board and Management meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes
  • Supporting the implementation of corporate governance policies and internal procedures

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates applying for this role should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Master’s degree and or professional HR certification such as CPS(HR), SHRM, or IHRM is an added advantage
  • At least seven years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of three years in a managerial role
  • Experience within the financial services or mortgage finance sector is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and HR best practices
  • Proven experience in administration, policy development, and people management
