Job Description
AngloGold Ashanti Tanzania is inviting applications for the position of Senior Officer, Administration at its Geita Gold Mine. The successful candidate will provide professional, technical, and administrative support to the Manager, HR Operations Support by overseeing administration services across the organization. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, managing contractors, controlling costs, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and maintaining accurate administrative systems and records.
This position is ideal for an experienced administration professional with strong expertise in contract management, logistics, budget control, and HR operations. The successful candidate will coordinate staff transportation, catering, cleaning, social security administration, and service provider performance while ensuring efficient service delivery and adherence to company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Promote compliance with GGML Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across administrative operations.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and participate in incident investigations where necessary.
- Manage and evaluate the performance of contractors providing transportation, catering, canteen, cleaning, laundry, and commissary services.
- Conduct monthly contractor performance review meetings and follow up on agreed action items.
- Verify completed work before processing service provider payments through SAP.
- Design, manage, and maintain administrative databases, including meal control systems and the Exit Social Security Fund Tracking Database.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation remains audit-ready.
- Support the preparation, monitoring, and implementation of HR Operations Support OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
- Monitor expenditure for service providers and analyze cost drivers to maintain budget compliance.
- Supervise daily administrative services, including staff transportation, fleet tracking, route inspections, meal tracking, and food delivery.
- Resolve operational challenges and escalate complex issues to the Manager, HR Operations Support.
- Oversee social security contributions, voluntary schemes, claims processing, and related administrative functions.
- Coordinate the verification, production, and issuance of employee and dependent medical cards.
- Maintain complete accuracy of the Exit Social Security Fund Database.
- Ensure timely processing of verified invoices while preventing cost leakage.
- Review service provider invoices against completed work and report discrepancies.
- Plan and monitor staff transportation schedules and route efficiency.
- Review and monitor implementation of staff meal plans and meal control systems.
- Supervise transportation services to ensure schedule adherence and efficient fleet utilization.
- Process social security and medical card requests promptly to achieve high internal customer satisfaction.

Qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Public Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
- Alternative qualifications supported by extensive experience managing large-scale staff transportation, catering, or cleaning services may be considered.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in senior administration, contract management, or logistics within a large organization.
- Previous experience in a multinational mining company or heavy industry environment is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing staff transportation logistics, catering services, cleaning services, and social security or insurance claims.
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance.
- Experience managing contractor performance across multiple service areas.
- Knowledge of invoice verification, SAP processing, and cost control procedures.
- Experience developing and maintaining administrative systems and operational databases.
- Experience preparing, monitoring, and controlling OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
- Strong understanding of records management and audit compliance.
- Knowledge of social security administration, employee benefits, and medical card processing.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail.
