CCTV Supervisor Job Vacancy at Barrick Bulyanhulu Gold Mine

Barrick Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking a qualified CCTV Security Supervisor to join its security team in Shinyanga, Tanzania. This role is ideal for experienced security professionals who can effectively oversee surveillance operations, ensure compliance with security standards, and coordinate security personnel within a large mining environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising CCTV operations, supporting general security activities, and ensuring effective protection of mine assets, personnel, and facilities. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both technology-based and field security operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate security resources and logistics to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
• Monitor departmental performance metrics to assess security operational effectiveness.
• Ensure daily activities align with security performance standards and targets.
• Maintain proactive security awareness to prevent incidents and losses.
• Report security deficiencies promptly to minimize risk of theft or loss.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely administrative reports (oral, written, incident, and safety reports).
• Conduct shift briefings, parade checks, and ensure proper deployment of security teams.
• Assess and evaluate team members’ performance in line with company policies.
• Investigate and escalate breaches of search and access control policies.
• Report and follow up on access system failures with technical teams.
• Inspect card readers and access/egress points daily.
• Conduct weekly fence line inspections and submit reports on time.
• Ensure compliance with security procedures within plant and operational areas.
• Train security personnel on company security policies and procedures.
• Hold team members accountable for performance and compliance standards.
• Make practical, value-based decisions in dynamic situations.
• Adapt to operational and departmental changes effectively.
• Ensure adequate planning and availability of resources for security operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in security operations or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and relevant legislation.
• Experience in mining security operations is highly desirable.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Ability to prepare and implement operational security plans.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with Mine Health & Safety standards.
• Ability to deal with grievances and manage personnel issues.
• Understanding of Tanzanian legal and customs procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to incidents effectively.
• High level of resilience, discipline, and reliability.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
