The Occupational Health Nurse role is essential in promoting and protecting the health of employees working in the mining environment. Responsibilities
The Occupational Health Nurse will play a vital role in safeguarding employee health by providing medical care, conducting health assessments, and implementing occupational health programs. • Conduct regular employee health assessments and medical examinations
• Provide medical treatment and emergency care when required

Qualification

Candidates for this role should possess professional nursing qualifications with specialized training in occupational health. The position requires strong clinical skills, knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, and the ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies in a mining environment.

• Registered Nurse with specialized training in Occupational Health
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role
• Valid nursing license
• Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in English language communication
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or occupational health management systems
• Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Ability to analyze health data, identify trends, and recommend preventive measures
• Knowledge of health risk assessment methodologies and fitness-for-duty evaluations
• Experience working with diverse and multicultural teams
• Strong decision-making skills, particularly during medical emergencies in remote locations
• Familiarity with Tanzanian occupational health legislation and mining industry health standards
