The MLOps Engineering Manager role is a senior technical leadership position responsible for building, managing, and optimizing the infrastructure and pipelines that support machine learning and data engineering operations. The role ensures seamless integration between data systems, model deployment pipelines, and production environments to enable reliable, secure, and scalable AI-driven banking services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee architecture and optimization of data platforms including Hive Metastore, PostgreSQL, and distributed object storage systems (e.g., MinIO/S3)
• Design, implement, and manage scalable data pipelines using tools such as PySpark, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Ensure efficient resource allocation across compute, storage, and cluster environments to optimize performance and cost
• Develop and enforce CI/CD pipelines for deploying machine learning models as secure, production-grade APIs and microservices
• Implement monitoring systems for model performance, including API latency, prediction accuracy, and data/concept drift detection
• Lead containerization and orchestration strategies to ensure consistency across development, testing, and production environments
• Act as a technical bridge between Data Science, BI teams, Core Banking IT, and cybersecurity functions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure secure access, infrastructure governance, and compliance with enterprise IT policies
• Drive automation-first engineering practices, eliminating manual deployment processes and improving system reliability
• Support infrastructure scaling strategies to handle growing data volumes and real-time analytics demands

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering, or MLOps
• At least 1–2 years in a leadership or engineering management role
• Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized workloads
• Solid experience with data systems such as Hive Metastore, PostgreSQL, and object storage (S3-compatible systems)
• Strong programming skills in Python and shell scripting
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git-based or cloud-native tools
• Strong understanding of distributed computing environments, especially PySpark
• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment systems
• Ability to design scalable, decoupled data architectures
• Strong problem-solving, systems thinking, and stakeholder management skills
