Job Description

Hannah Bennie School (HBS) was established to provide children in Kigamboni with access to high-quality English-medium education close to home. To support its growing workforce and strengthen organizational effectiveness, HBS is seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Officer to join its administration team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing human capital functions, ensuring compliance with employment regulations, and fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce human resource policies and procedures in compliance with Tanzanian labour laws
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and employee retention initiatives
  • Manage performance management processes and support employee development
  • Handle employee relations matters, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution processes
  • Design and coordinate staff training, professional development, and capacity-building programs
  • Ensure fair and competitive compensation and benefits administration
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
  • Promote best practices in human capital management and organizational development
  • Advise management on HR matters and employment law compliance

Qualification Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least four years of experience in human resource management
  • Strong knowledge of the Employment and Labour Relations Act and contemporary HR best practices
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
