Applications are accepted for postgraduate programs from February to November of the year of admission, for bachelor’s degree programs from August to October, and for non-degree programs from June to September.
At least three months before the start of the courses in September or January, applications for the NBAA/NBMM or PSPTB Exam review courses must be submitted to the relevant departments.
All new students are required to attend the registration process, as detailed in the University/TCU Almanac and joining guidelines. The new student orientation event will be held during the second week of registration.
International students are expected to fulfill all immigration formalities in their home countries prior to their trip to Tanzania. They also have to pick up a residence permit from the nearest Tanzanian Embassy or High Commission when they get there. This should be finished as quickly as possible. To confirm that they have been allowed entry, it is recommended that visitors to Tanzania bring their documentation and confirmation from SAUT. It is also advisable to have financial assistance documentation on hand in case the immigration authorities ask for it at the port of entry.

Entry Requirements for Admission
Minimum requirements for entrance to institutes of higher learning: The following SAUT minimal entry requirements have been set by TCU and NACTE for admission to HEIs:
- For Form Six applicants who completed their A-Level coursework before to 2014, the minimum admittance criteria is two principal passes with a total score of 4.0 points;
- For Form Six students who completed their A-Level coursework between 2014 and 2015, a minimum entry criteria of two principal passes (two Cs) with a total score of 4.0 points is required;
- Form Six applicants who completed their A-Level coursework in 2016 must have two principal passes with a total score of 4.0 points in order to be admitted;
