The General Manager position at Manyara Best View Lodge is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lodge. The role combines guest relations, operational management, staff leadership, quality assurance, inventory control, and administrative oversight to ensure the lodge operates efficiently while delivering outstanding guest satisfaction and maintaining high hospitality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and conduct lodge briefings upon arrival
  • Actively host guests during meal times and ensure a memorable guest experience
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally
  • Conduct daily inspections of housekeeping standards and public areas
  • Monitor table setups and ensure high service quality standards
  • Ensure kitchen food hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained
  • Review daily operational reports and guest day sheets
  • Verify guest itineraries, dietary requirements, and allergy information
  • Monitor and record additional revenue generated from shop, bar, and spa services
  • Support and coordinate activities across all lodge departments
  • Enforce staff dress code and workplace standards
  • Manage staff leave schedules and workforce planning
  • Conduct biannual staff performance appraisals
  • Oversee weekly food and beverage ordering processes
  • Ensure compliance with approved kitchen recipes and food preparation standards
  • Conduct monthly inventory stock takes and stock control activities
  • Maintain up-to-date staff certifications, including first aid, fire safety, and food handling certificates
  • Ensure all guests complete and sign required arrival waivers
  • Monitor property maintenance issues and ensure accurate reporting

Qualification required

  • Proven experience in lodge management or high-end hospitality operations
