Predictive Model ML/AI Specialist
Yas Tanzania is seeking an experienced and innovative Predictive Model ML/AI Specialist to drive the development, governance, and operationalization of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions that support commercial objectives. The role is responsible for identifying high-impact AI/ML opportunities, developing predictive analytics strategies, ensuring model governance and compliance, and embedding machine learning outputs into business processes to enhance decision-making and business performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with commercial leadership, data teams, and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable AI-driven solutions that support customer lifecycle management, churn prevention, revenue growth, customer segmentation, campaign optimization, and other strategic initiatives. This position requires strong technical expertise, commercial understanding, and leadership capabilities in managing end-to-end machine learning projects.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Commercial Director and senior stakeholders to define and prioritize AI/ML use cases aligned with commercial objectives.
- Develop and manage AI/ML roadmaps focusing on churn prevention, revenue uplift, customer segmentation, propensity modeling, and campaign optimization.
- Lead the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of predictive machine learning models.
- Establish and enforce machine learning model governance frameworks.
- Develop standards for model validation, explainability, bias assessment, version control, and production acceptance.
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of machine learning solutions.
- Integrate ML model outputs into commercial workflows, CRM systems, campaign management platforms, and business intelligence tools.
- Enable real-time, data-driven decision-making through predictive analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with technology and business teams to operationalize AI-driven insights.
- Monitor model performance and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy and business impact.
- Ensure compliance of AI/ML systems with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
- Support adherence to PDPA Tanzania requirements, TCRA directives, and GDPR-aligned standards.
- Guide architecture decisions and provide technical oversight throughout model development lifecycles.
- Promote best practices in machine learning operations, DevOps, CI/CD, and model deployment.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to data science and analytics teams where applicable.
- Communicate technical insights and recommendations effectively to business stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related roles.
- At least two years of experience leading teams or managing end-to-end machine learning project delivery.
- Strong experience in predictive modeling, machine learning algorithms, and advanced analytics.
- Telecom analytics experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of subscriber lifecycle management, churn modeling, customer value management (CVM), and CDR data analysis.
- Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into commercial and operational business environments.
- Understanding of machine learning governance, model validation, explainability, and ethical AI practices.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and machine learning operationalization.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks.
