Full Job Description

Brand Manager at Diageo is a full-time position based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The role focuses on developing and implementing brand strategies that drive growth, strengthen market positioning, and improve consumer engagement. The successful candidate will use consumer insights, market research, and strategic planning to manage brand performance, advertising campaigns, promotional activities, and profitability while ensuring achievement of Net Sales Value (NSV) targets.

The position requires close collaboration with commercial teams, regional brand teams, media agencies, and promotional partners to deliver impactful marketing campaigns and ensure consistent brand execution across the market. The Brand Manager will also oversee advertising and promotional budgets, monitor market trends, and support long-term brand growth through data-driven decision-making and innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading development and implementation of annual strategic brand plans
  • Managing allocated brand budgets and monitoring expenditures
  • Analysing market research and identifying opportunities to strengthen brand strategies
  • Collaborating with media agencies and promotional partners to deliver creative campaigns
  • Working closely with commercial teams to ensure successful execution of brand plans
  • Managing advertising and promotional activities to support sustainable brand growth
  • Designing and implementing media strategies aligned with brand objectives
  • Supporting public relations activities that strengthen brand visibility and customer engagement
  • Monitoring brand performance, product availability, sales, and market share
  • Tracking competitor activities and responding strategically to market changes
  • Supporting packaging updates and brand extension initiatives
  • Monitoring brand profitability and providing financial improvement recommendations
  • Preparing reports on brand costs, expenditures, and budget variances
  • Conducting regular trade visits to gather market intelligence
  • Collaborating with regional brand teams on strategic implementation and updates

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, Business, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of marketing experience, preferably in an FMCG environment
  • Experience in development and execution of advertising strategies
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills
  • Strategic planning and campaign management abilities
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to interpret market trends and consumer insights
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
