Full Job Description

Senior Key Accounts Manager at Diageo is a full-time position based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The role is responsible for managing relationships with major multi-outlet accounts and strategic customers within East African Breweries PLC (EABL). The position focuses on strengthening customer partnerships, driving commercial growth, improving product visibility and availability, and ensuring high standards of execution across key accounts.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, distributors, internal sales teams, and commercial stakeholders to develop and implement medium and long-term business strategies. The role requires strong account management skills, commercial understanding, sales leadership, and the ability to identify new market opportunities while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Embedding Everyday Minimum Execution Standards across operations
  • Ensuring customer complaints are resolved efficiently and on time
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts and business partners
  • Developing and implementing medium and long-term key account business plans
  • Managing customer trading terms such as discounts, bonuses, and credit arrangements
  • Identifying business opportunities, market trends, and strategic growth opportunities
  • Ensuring achievement of targets related to product availability, visibility, sales volume, margins, and pricing
  • Monitoring product quality standards and customer execution performance
  • Ensuring Key Account team members comply with Diageo Marketing Code and corporate compliance guidelines
  • Consolidating business insights, reports, and market data for management decision-making
  • Supporting implementation of a total alcohol and one-portfolio commercial strategy
  • Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to improve account performance

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Relevant professional certifications
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in sales
  • Managerial sales experience is an added advantage
  • Experience in account management, field sales, or trade marketing
  • Basic understanding of Profit and Loss (P&L) management
  • Experience working with financial data such as margins, trade investment, and customer profitability
  • Valid driving license with strong driving experience
  • Passion for luxury and reserve product categories
  • Understanding of competitors, distributors, and key customers
  • Strong understanding of commercial and sales opportunities
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to build strong partnerships internally and externally
  • Coaching and leadership abilities in sales and brand-building tools
  • Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural environments
