Tabora Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (TUWASA) is inviting qualified and motivated Tanzanians to apply for the position of ICT Officer. The successful candidate will support database management, ICT systems operations, network administration, and technical support services at TUWASA Headquarters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and update databases.
- Verify customer data in the customer master file.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ICT-related problems reported by system users.
- Monitor the use of IT systems including user identity, access time, accessed information, and user codes for audit and security purposes.
- Maintain computer equipment and supporting hardware.
- Operate and manage computer network servers.
- Check computer programs and outputs to ensure water bills are accurately processed on time for the correct customers, water consumption, and applicable tariffs.
- Identify and evaluate business opportunities for Electronic Data Processing (EDP) services to other organizations in order to maximize utilization of Authority ICT facilities.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
Education and Qualifications
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Business Information Systems
- Data Science Management
- Computer Engineering
- Information Technology and Communication
- Information Management Systems
- Statistics
- Any other related qualification from a recognized institution.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of database management and computer networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Good understanding of IT security and audit procedures.
- Ability to maintain ICT systems and servers efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to maintain accurate ICT records and reports.
Terms of Employment
- One-year volunteer contract.
- Remuneration will be in accordance with Government Volunteers Guidelines.
General Conditions

- Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged not more than 35 years.
- Must hold a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree from a government-recognized institution.
- Must have two guarantors who are public servants.
- Must provide a confirmation letter from Local Government Authority.
- Must be willing to volunteer in the assigned area.
- Applicants must not have been convicted of criminal or disciplinary offenses.
- Applicants must demonstrate good conduct and acceptable community behavior.
