Role and Responsibilities
As a Medical Attendant, you will:
- Ensure working tools and equipment are available and in good condition
- Direct patients and relatives appropriately within the facility
- Prepare patients before consultation or procedures
- Assist clinicians in OPD, IPD, or OTD as assigned
- Support effective communication between doctors and staff
- Assist in controlling patient flow in clinical areas
- Transport patients, equipment, and supplies between units
- Verify and transport specimens to the laboratory
- Maintain a clean, calm, and comfortable patient environment
- Conduct scheduled weekly and monthly cleaning activities
Minimum Requirements
- Form Four Certificate plus one year basic nursing training from a government-recognized institution
- Minimum one year of working experience
- Computer literacy
- Good communication skills in English and Swahili
- Flexible, proactive, able to multitask, and eager to learn

- Maintain patient dignity at all times
- Prepare patients before consultation or surgery
- Assist doctors during examinations and surgical procedures
- Translate between Kiswahili and English where necessary
- Communicate sensitive medical information and counsel patients
- Perform clinical procedures as required
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Control patient flow within clinical areas
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
- Valid registration and licence from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Good communication skills in English and Swahili
- Flexible, proactive, able to multitask, and eager to learn
