The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) is a Tanzanian premium university specializing in health and allied sciences. It was established in 2007 through Article 1 of the Charter of Incorporation in line with the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005. Since its establishment, MUHAS has expanded its academic programmes in biomedical, clinical, and allied health sciences. Due to this growth, the University continues to strengthen its human resources capacity to effectively deliver its core functions.
In this regard, MUHAS invites applications from qualified and motivated Tanzanians to fill volunteer positions under the School of Pharmacy Enterprise Centre.
Project Summary
The School of Pharmacy Enterprise Centre is implementing a practical production initiative and is inviting applications for the position of Volunteer Pharmaceutical Technician. The Enterprise Centre is engaged in the production of the following products:
- Multipurpose soap
- Hand wash
- Mouthwash
- Methylated spirit
Nature of Engagement and Work Station
This is a volunteer position based at the School of Pharmacy Enterprise Centre (SOPEC) under MUHAS.
Open Positions and Description
1. Pharmaceutical Technician – 2 Posts
Duties and Responsibilities
The Volunteer Pharmaceutical Technician will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assisting in the formulation and production of multipurpose soap, hand wash, mouthwash, and methylated spirit
- Ensuring proper handling, packaging, and labeling of produced items
- Maintaining good manufacturing practices and high hygiene standards
- Assisting in quality control activities and documentation of production processes
- Performing any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Holder of a Certificate or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes and quality control
